Introduction of the Department of Nuclear Medicine
The department of nuclear medicine (DNM) was founded in 1995. It provides top-ranking nuclear medical imaging services, high quality teaching and research in Guangdong province. DNM is now one of the provincial key clinical specialties in Guangdong province, offering master and Ph.D programs in nuclear medicine.
Our team has 20 scientists, including physicians, technicians, and nurses. The department has PET/CT and SPECT/CT imaging, functional test, bone density examination, radio immunity test, one outpatient clinic, and one inpatient ward area with 5 ward beds for DTC patients. More than 1,000 patients with thyroid diseases are treated annually using radio- iodine-131, while over 5000 PET/CT or SPECT/CT imaging are performed annually in DNM.
