Dr. Xiaobing Zou is the Director of the Child Developmental and Behavioral Center (CDBC) and department Pediatrics at the 3rd Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU) in Guangzhou. He established CDBC as the first medical diagnostic and intervention center for autism and other developmental behavioral disabilities in south China, and served as Director for more than 15 years. Dr. Zou is very committed to improve medical care professionalism and public welfare for children with autism spectrum disorders. He is a well-recognized clinician, and taking the national academic leadership for his best medical practice with developmental disorders, especially within the autism spectrum. Dr. Zou is extremely focus on the research of early diagnosis and behavioral intervention strategies towards children in the spectrum and other developmental disabilities. He emphasizes the importance of individualize educational approaches according to their unique temperament dimensions. He has been actively advocated for children with special needs through social media and over a hundred publications in China. Besides, Dr. Zou also put his full effort constantly on advancing the social supports and benefits for children with autism in low resource areas in China. He gives hundreds of lectures and live-talks to educational institutes and government organizations for autism social welfares. His scientific advancements and productivities were reported time after time by China Central Television-CCTV and other nationwide mainstream media. In the year 2008, Dr. Zou was honored and awarded China Soong-Ching-Ling Pediatric Award, which is a highly honored national award for pediatrician, for his excellent work and continue efforts on advancing autism awareness, early diagnosis and family-based intervention implementations.
