Dr. Jing is an infectious diseases physician since 1994. She has engaged in the clinical medicine, teaching and research of infectious diseases over twenty years and is the current deputy director physician in the Infectious Diseases Department. Her work focuses on viral hepatitis, especially the relation of host genetic polymorphism with clinical outcomes of HBV infection and its pathogenesis. She is also engaged in the field of antiviral therapies of viral hepatitis, noninvasive assessment of liver fibrosis. Dr. Jing Lai's other interests include the infectious diseases clinical teaching reform in higher medical education.

Experience

Lai Jing works in Infectious Disease Department, the Third Affiliated Hospital of the Sun Yat-Sen University since July, 1994. She joined the hospital as a resident, and was promoted to become Doctor in Charge and then the Deputy Director Physician in 2013. She has engaged in clinical medicine, higher medical education teaching and the infectious disease research for more than twenty years.

 

Honors and Awards

She focuses on the relation between clinical outcome of HBV infection and host genetic susceptibility since 2006 and had headed three funded studies.

1. The relation between gene polymorphisms of HLA-DQB1 combined with HLA -DQA1 and hepatitis B virus related acute-on-chronic liver failure. Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province (S2011040002457).

2. The relation of gene polymorphism of human leukocyte antigen-DRB1 with severe hepatitis B. Medical Science and Technology Research Foundation of Guangdong Province (A2011187).

3. The research of hepatitis B virus associated acute-on-chronic liver failure and the gene polymorphism of human leukocyte antigen-II. Science and Technology Project of Guangdong Province (2010 1096).

 Furthermore, she is awarded the excellent service physician, teacher in the comprehensive assessment in the previous year.
