His work mainly focuses on the research of invasive fungal infection and other pathogenic fungus, especially the genomics, pathogenesis, clinical and experimental drug resistance of Sporothrix schenckii, the study of the differences between the immunocompetent and the immunodificent animal models of Sporothrix infection also included. He is the superintendent of a scientific research project funding by The National Natural Science Foundation of China and has been guiding the work of postgraduates since 2006.
