His principal research interests are the induction of immune tolerance in organ transplantation, the immune regulation role of mesenchymal stem cells, the optimal immunosuppressive therapy, protection from hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury, and mechanisms associated with carcinogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma. His honors included the Young Investigator Award in the 17th and 22nd Annual International Congress of the International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS), the Travel Award in the 12th Congress of the Asian Society of Transplantation, the Young Innovator Award in the 3rd Annual Scientific Exchange of the American Society of Transplantation, and the Young Innovator Award in the EASL Special Conference on Liver Transplantation 2011. He has received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the others. Dr. Wang is one of candidates of the “Thousand-Hundred-Ten Talent Training Program” of Guangdong Province, and the “Outstanding Young Talents Program” of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal of Translational Cancer Research, World Journal of Hepatology, Organ Transplantation. He is also the invited reviewer for several international journals, such as Hepatology、Tumor Biology、Plos One、Medical Science Monitor.
Dr. Wang’s other research interests include early non-invasive diagnosis of allograft rejection, and surgical management of portal hypertension.
